Meeting 5 - Illinois Monument, Vicksburg National Park, Vicksburg, MS

Martha Lucia had carried the Illinois Monument in Vicksburg in her heart for two years, knowing that it was a strategic structure concerning the stronghold of death in America.

The convergence of Mississippi Mercy and Martha’s burden were like nitrogen and glycerin.

The structure was a large, round rotunda with a 12-ft. hole in the roof. The building was based on Greek architecture with 12 sides on the interior along with the seal of the State of Illinois in the center.

Martha related how important the Zech. 9 scripture (One of the foundational scriptures for this journey) was. She related how the bend in the river at Vicksburg coincided with the bending of the bow of the Lord.

James then shared the following dream:

"Several weeks before the journey began, I was to meet with Martha to discuss strategy for her portion of the initiative. The night before the meeting, I had a dream. In this dream, there was a white tree that had writing on it that I couldn't interpret. There was a young man with me from the next generation. The tree felt like velvet to touch, and as I touched the tree, the DNA of the tree came off in my hand.

The next moment, I noticed Martha and her associate standing on top of a hill on the other side of a ravine, and I was standing beside her. I then threw a snowball that struck the embankment that the tree was standing on, and a large portion of the embankment fell in on itself. Martha and I then were able to peer through the hole and look inside the mountain. It looked like a cavernous ice palace, very deep, very wide. Martha and I were amazed how thin the shell of the mountain was. We were again standing on the other side of the ravine, and watched as the whole side of the mountain collapsed to the left in the form of 12 huge obelisks, each larger than the Washington Monument.

We could then see the interior of the whole mountain. To the left, there was a large cavern with an underground river flowing through it. It appeared much debris had gathered on the lip of the waterfall, blocking the flow of the river. All of a sudden, the debris broke loose and 24 obelisks of different sizes, sandstone in color, flowed out of the river and over the waterfall. Martha was ahead of me on a swinging bridge with her associate, and I shouted to her, 'I have never seen this much supernatural manifestation on a prayer journey.' I then shouted to her, 'I think that you have a key of revelation that we need.' "

Martha went to Job 38:22-23, she wanted to go to the scripture because she said that she knew what scripture that was.

"Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail, which I reserve for times of times of trouble, for days of war and battle?" The key that Martha then released was that the treasures of hail and snow were laid up for battle (triumphant reserve), and that the images that James saw were accurate.

Note* When we arrived in St. Anthony Falls, St. Paul, Minnesota, there were twenty-four small obelisks chained together as a guardrail for the falls.

We moved inside the monument from there, and took our positions around the perimeter of the rotunda and released the sound of the shofar. One intercessor heard the demons scream as they left while the shofars were being released. As James began to strike the drum that he had positioned in the middle of the room, it sounded like a thousand drums of thunder. We were all taken back by the resound.

The song You Deserve the Glory took us into a very deep, lengthy period of worship with sounds unimaginable to us. Song after song of worship: Jesus- Just Something About that Name, Majesty, To Him who Sits on the Throne, and there was a spontaneous song of Mercy being sung into the heavenlies with spontaneous cries of Mercy. As that concluded, we began the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

The moments inside this portal were among the most memorable of the journey. On a scale of 1-10, more than one person commented, this one was a 10.

Meeting 6 – Behind the Illinois Monument, Vicksburg National Park, Vicksburg, MS

We had an afternoon meeting scheduled at a different site, but our experience in the morning had been so overwhelming we wanted to worship in the resound of that portal once again, but it wasn’t to be. The park rangers wouldn’t let us back into the monument.

We were again grateful for the goodness of the Lord! He had given us access in a sliver of time to accomplish the assignment, but a part of me so wanted to hear that sound again.
